Tennessee Coal Ash Spill Covers 3000 Acres, anyone for Clean Coal?

On December 22nd, 2008 the retaining wall of an ash storage pond was breached at TVA's Kingston Steam Plant. At that time an Estimated 1.7 million cubic yards of toxic coal sludge was spilled over 300 acres. But on December 28, 2008 it was reported that more than 5.2 million cubic feet was spilled over 3000 acres of land, infecting rivers, wildlife, and homeowners alike (see below). With this much coal sludge everyone in Tennessee can have there very own cubic yard of coal sludge. Or they could cover the entire land area of Rhode Island (1044 sq. miles) in 8.4 feet of "clean" coal sludge.
