Berkeley’s Climate Action Plan, which the City Council will take up on April 21, 2009, is a research- and community-based response to the challenge of climate change. with many hundreds of hours of community input, the latest draft of the Climate Action Plan presents an approach to creating a more livable, and conomically community.
the original plan was proposed in November 2006, 81% of Berkeley voters endorsed ballot Measure G, which established an aggressive Greenhouse Gas (GHG) reduction target for their community, 80% by 2050 and directed the City to develop a plan for achieving that target.
An updated draft of the plan is now available online at www.cityofberkeley.info/sustainable.
