A New place for Solar Energy - Highway Right of Way

The results of meetings with the Western Renewable Energy Zones Project (WREZ), a joint project between the Western Governors' Association and the U.S. Department of Energy, showed incentive to install solar power systems on unused land at the side of highways. With 4 million miles of highways in use within the U.S. and 60 million miles of surrounding public land we would be able to implement up to 20 million megawatts of solar power.  This would be largest solar power project in the history of the world!
